Ivan van den Brink graduated (with Distinction) from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor of Applied Science in 1997. Understanding the value of experience in the construction industry for any structural engineer, Ivan chose to work as a framer, building conventional wood frame buildings prior to and during university
Since graduation, Ivan has been engineering in the structural consulting industry. His design experience has been well diversified with a broad range of projects that include post disaster, institutional, commercial, residential, light industrial, and specialty structures. Design experience incudes a balance of conventional wood frame, heavy timber, structural steel, concrete and masonry. While sound engineering principles are a priority, Ivan also takes pride in the team and solution oriented approach to structural engineering practice.
